Zimbabwe study sites and interventions

The Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) runs the Zimbabwe health system, with programme and policy leadership at the central, provincial and district levels. There is an aim to have a primary level clinic within walking distance of everyone (challenging in rural communities). Local primary health level clinics are run either by MoHCC or the local authority, with strong support and reliance on community health workers. Zimbabwe faces a serious shortage of health staff, largely linked to economic migration to other countries.
